Answers:
Why must I register in order to download a free file?
3D Model Sharing is a unique service. In building this site, we put in place several restrictions. One of those restrictions is that it checks to make sure that the person downloading the file is a registered member. We did this in an effort to protect the rights of the person who uploaded the file and also to help prevent serious abuse.
What is registration?
Registration is a simple matter of just filling out a form and creating a username and password. There is no charge to register. Registration will allow you to download any file on the site.
What happens with the information I enter for registration?
Information provided for registration is stored on our servers and NEVER given out to any third party. On occasion, we do send informational emails to our membership list from third parties that we feel might benefit our members.
How do I manage my files?
You can access your file management page, by clicking on the Manage Account link at the bottom of any page on the 3D Model Sharing site, except in the forums. Then you enter your login information and you will see your file(s). To edit or delete a file, click on the View/Edit link to the right of the file. When you have made a change, be sure to refresh the list by clicking the Refresh link.
How do I add images to my files?
Once you have logged in to the Account Management page, locate the file you would like to add images to and click the View/Edit link to the right of the file information. This will open up a new window. In this window, on the right side toward the bottom, you will see a section called Still Image Slideshow. There are five image spots available. Choose the first available spot by clicking the radio button underneath the image location. Then choose browse and locate the image file. Please only use .gif or .jpg filetypes. There is a limit to the size of the image - 350 pixels wide max and 350 pixels tall max. Then click on "Upload Image". Your image should appear. Repeat this process until you have added all the images you would like of your file up to five.
How do I make a SpinFire model?
You don't. We will create the SpinFire model for you. All we need is a native CAD file (uncompressed) in any of the available listed formats. To do this, access the Account Management page as described above and then click on View/Edit to the right of the file for which you would like us to create a SpinFire model. Then, on the right side of the new window that opens, there is a list of file types we accept for SpinFire conversion. Use the Browse button to locate your native CAD file and then click on Upload Model. Your model will be created and added to the site shortly.
